THE METRO MOTOR GROUP FAMILY began in 1978 with a single dealership, Vantage Motors, headed by Michael Grieco, Sr., a native of Scarpoli, Italy, with deep family roots and a passion for impeccably crafted vehicles.

In 1995, Metro Motor Group and the Grieco Family introduced its first franchise, HONDA, into the corporation's portfolio. Metro Honda made its home in Johnston, RI; just minutes from the metropolitan capital, Providence. The Providence metropolitan area is a region spanning across six counties in two states and is the 37th largest metropolitan area in the United States. The average population density is 2,300 per square mile and its proximity to Johnston is 3.44 miles.

In the years following the Honda franchise acquisition, Michael Grieco, Sr. began transferring the reins and leadership role of the day-to-day operations and heading up of the Corporation to his eldest son, Michael, Jr.

As, CEO and Vice President, Michael, Jr., grew the Metro Motor Group portfolio with the addition of the three KIA franchises, two Mazda franchises, Honda, Ford, Nissan, Volkswagen (New), Chrysler Jeep Dodge and Fiat (New), and Metro Exotics, a store dedicated to the sales of high-end vehicles, for a total of twelve stores, spanning across three states; Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Florida.

Michael, Jr. leads the corporation with a fresh, entrepreneurial spirit and has evolved the corporation into a young and forward-thinking brand of its own. As the face of the organization, he along with his hand-selected team have attained successes such as being recognized as #2 Mazda dealership in the country (2007-2009); #1 Jeep dealership in volume sales; and #1 in sales of Ford F-Series trucks, #1 volume sales Honda store in RI, and #1 volume KIA store in sales in RI just to name a few.
